ABOUT breathing by design
Everyone breathes all day, every day and we very rarely give it any thought. Breathing should be an easy, subconscious process that our brain and body does just as nature designed us to. Sometimes this normal process can be altered and we no longer breathe in a way which maintains optimal health and performance.
Breathing retraining gives you the tools to help reset your breathing pattern. It will enable you to understand the science of breathing and how the way you breathe is affecting how your body and mind are able to work.

Meet carla
Having completed a Sport & Exercise Science degree at Bath University I then went on to train as a Respiratory Clinical Physiologist in Exeter. After qualifying I moved to Bristol and have 22 years of experience working with patients in an NHS Respiratory outpatients department. I am an accredited Clinical Scientist registered with the HCPC.
My main area of work in the NHS was lung function testing to assess how well patients' lungs were working. However I also provided breathing retraining in this setting; working with patients to improve their breathing pattern at rest and on exercise.
I am now utilising my extensive experience and knowledge of working with people, respiratory physiology and breathing patterns to ensure that everyone is maximising their potential whether in daily life, work or sport.
